Sing At Midnight

“Sometimes you’ve gotta praise in the prison
Cry out to heaven, shout it ’til the doors swing wide
Sometimes you’ve gotta stand on your shackles
Brave in the battle, worship with your hands held high
I’ll praise You anywhere.”
-Brandon Lake (“Praise You Anywhere”)
It’s easier to praise God when things are going well, we feel like things are falling into place, and we can point out the good without even thinking. It is in those darker moments when this does not come easily, it does not come naturally to most of us.
I’m focusing on the story of Paul and Silas singing at midnight this week. When I don’t feel like my faith or praise is as strong as it should be, it helps me to turn to scripture to learn from the examples of the lives like Paul. It encourages me that if God was with Paul and Silas in that prison cell, then God is definitely right beside me, too.
I invite you to journey with me this week as I dive deeper on Wednesday with a full devotional writing and wrap up the week with a celebration on Friday’s post. Let’s praise God every and anywhere together this week!
