Friday Vibes

Faith, fur, and friendly conversation-that’s how my Friday is going so far!

Fur is literally everywhere in my house and on me, in THE BEST way possible. My heart is so full, and it has only been two weeks since a sweet, loving beagle-mix (we think) rescue pup has joined the pack. My other beagle is loving having a little brother, and I enjoy having to use both hands to pet. Which means less scrolling for me, which is always a good thing.

I also had an amazing opportunity today, which was all God! My second-grade self is still so pumped about it all, honestly. I met with a publisher for the first time to talk about a book I’ve been writing!!!! Apologies for the many exclamation points, but just know I edited quite a few out already, hehe.

I have always written in the background of my life. A journal entry here, a list of book ideas there, each a burst of chaotic, creative writing goodness. It has been a few years since this specific idea came to mind, and I really started buckling down to form it. I don’t know if this is the exact time that it will be published, but it definitely feels good.

The publishing company I met with, Calla Press Publishing, was amazing, y’all! I in no way have a deal with them right now, but reading their mission and vision statements before the meeting made it clear what God was telling me. I know this is a good place to start stepping out with obedience and in faith that God will take it where it needs to go. After the meeting, I am definitely a huge fan of Calla Press Publishing because she was so encouraging and uplifting, just as we are all called to do. I’m keeping her name out just in case, but if you happen to read this, thank you so much! You don’t know how much your positivity meant to me.

Again, I do not know where this will lead if anywhere right now, but I am excited that I can hear God saying, “Good job, Mel! Stepping out of your comfort zone is exactly what I want you to do to spread My Good News.”

I’ll end this before I get way out of hand with my excitement level, with a scripture that I am taking to heart through this experience. I felt such encouragement from a publishing company that didn’t know me at the beginning of our short meeting, but they showed the love of God from the start to the end. I want to embrace encouraging others more, too!
