Gratitude Walk

On my walk today, I started to talk to God about all the things I’m thankful for. I could have walked miles and never gotten to it all! I decided to focus on my immediate family members today, telling God specific reasons I am thankful that He put them in my life and how they make me a better person. From being there at any moment to making me laugh to making me realize that love is forgiving, too. It was amazing to talk to God about these blessings that I can easily take for granted.

I know my mind went there today, but it’s not just because of Thanksgiving; I want to make this a habit for myself. I wrote earlier this week about a few challenges, including getting back into a gratitude journal in a short blog entitled “Psalm 100 for Everyday Thankfulness.” I am going to add another one today and challenge myself to do a weekly Gratitude Walk, focusing on various aspects of my life, including friends, basic needs, work, family, church family, students from Student Ministry, and anything else that God puts on my heart.

Because I love a good worship song to match my mood, I am starting a Gratitude Walk Playlist:

  • Gratitude-Brandon Lake
  • Thank You Lord-Chris Tomlin feat. Thomas Rhett & Florida Georgia Line
  • Counting My Blessings-Seph Schlueter
  • I Thank God-Maverick City Music
  • I Thank God I Do-Lauren Daigle

What others should I add? I would absolutely love your recommendations in the comments if you have a quick moment. Thank you, Happy Thanksgiving, and have a blessed day!

See ya in the next post, with
