“No matter how far away I strayed or how deep I fell, the hand of God was always evident and sovereign in my life.”
-Zach Williams (BooK: “Rescue Story”)
I decided to look back to see what book, other than the bible, of course, that had deeply moved me this year, and that book was “Rescue Story” by Zach Williams. Yes, the Zach Williams who sings songs we all love, but also a fellow Christian who struggled with his faith and drinking along the way.
I loved this book and have so many quotes tagged that I’m sure I’ll write about another here soon. However, I wanted to take a quick moment to tell you about Zach’s book (yes, I feel he’s become an old friend after reading his story). I had many places I related to with Zach and his struggles, but the amazing thing was not his music (which I love), but I loved how vulnerable he was in telling his story. He prompts his readers to do the same, and I know that is what God is calling us all to do, too. I know I will be trying to do the same myself after reading.

I have no tie to Zach or his sales, but if you are searching for a book to connect to in your own struggles with God and faith, this is your book to pick up next. If you know someone who struggles with faith or addiction and you aren’t quite sure how to lead them to the freedom in Jesus, snag this book as a gift and plant that seed!
