Finding God’s Light on a Christmas Carriage Ride

Sparkling lights. Crisp cool air. Clip-clops of hoofs hitting pavement. Giggles from loved ones. Pure joy!

This past week, I was blessed to go on a Christmas Horse Carriage ride with my mom, sister, and brother! We celebrated my mom’s birthday with this special treat for her. My mom loves Christmas and horses, so it was a perfect match.

As our sweet horse, ‘Opal,’ took us on a loop downtown in our little, growing city of Georgetown, Texas, I could not help but be amazed at what God was showing me. To keep it short for a Friday read, I felt God whispering to me to:

  • Slow down and enjoy the moments, not the materialistic things in life.
  • Love my family and make sure I tell them often.
  • Spend time together. I don’t have to spend money on things, spend it on memories and experiences instead.
  • Listen and look for Me (God) everywhere.
  • Be My (God’s) light for all the world to see Me through your actions, words, and how you make others feel.

I could go on but I think a top five God whispers of the night is sufficient for now. Friends, I encourage you to listen to God’s whispers to you in any and all moments especially during this Christmas season. Merry Christmas, y’all!
