Peace, a heart at rest.

Silence, a holy hush.

Truth made clear deep inside my heart-

God gave me the ultimate gift of new life through His Son, Jesus.

Christmas week is here! As I prepare for the celebrations, family gatherings, and the chaos (not always in a bad way), I find myself being pulled to be still and silent this morning. God is whispering to me, ‘Slow down, focus on the single gift of the birth of Jesus. Remember and know how much I (God) love you!’

I happened to be reading Ephesians today (not yet in my Christmas devotional for the day) but God put this Word there for me today: “ God saved you by His grace when you believed. And you can’t take credit for this; it is a gift from God.” (Ephesians 2:8) There it is in plain text for us this morning God gave us the gift of new life through Jesus. God loves us so deeply that He gave His only Son for us, knowing we could not do it without this sacrifice. If you read on a bit more in Ephesians 2, you will see God calls all of us His “masterpiece” and “He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things He planned for us long ago.” Well, Paul (the author of Ephesians) said it all in these few verses!

Consider taking a moment today as Christmas nears to sit and chat with God of how grateful you are for this wonderful, loving gift He has given you.

See ya in the next post, with
