He’s Changing Me

‘Everything changed, it’s getting harder to recognize

The person I was before I encountered Christ

I don’t walk like I used to

I don’t talk like I used to

I’ve been washed from the inside

I’ve been washed from the inside out.’

-Blood (Live from Passion 2026) Song

This song has been on repeat during the Lenten season. I’ll play it in my car, on my phone as I get ready for the day, through my computer while writing, and at work, anywhere I can really. I’ve shared it directly with people multiple times, too. Ever since I heard it through my laptop screen while I watched Passion 2026, I knew that song was going to be one of my ‘anthem’ songs. It was powerful even watching it online! If you have not watched it, here is the link. Definitely worth the watch and rewatch!

Every time I reflect, whether it be ten years ago, a month ago, or just earlier in the day, I am amazed at how God has changed me. I am ‘getting harder to recognize’ in the most beautiful way. I don’t say that to brag, so I hope it doesn’t come off that way, but I truly can see the spaces and places where God has changed me and ‘washed me from the inside out.’ From the small things like I don’t grip my steering wheel in road rage as often, ‘cuz let’s be real, there are times when I get frustrated too. Then there are bigger changes I can see when I do not even feel the temptation of drinking alcohol anymore. Again, don’t get me wrong, there is nothing wrong with drinking, but for me, it was a separation from God. I was not in control of it, and it was not good for me personally.

Looking back on your mistakes with a positive light can be powerful. When I do this, it is when I see God working in my life the most, and this song reminds me how much God has changed me for the good through Jesus’ blood shed for you and for me.

See you in the next post,

with faith and a little fur 🐾
