The Most Busiest Time…But God Is Near

🎵It’s the most busiest time of the year! 🎵Oh wait, that’s not how that song goes ahaha! While it really is ‘the most wonderful time of the year,’ the first rendition can definitely feel more real right now.
Today was one of those busy, busy days. I am picking up a side hustle this month as a UPS Seasonal Driver to help with my bills. When I got home, I didn’t have much downtime before needing to work on my Sunday curriculum for my main, most important job as Associate Director of Student Ministry at my church. After all that, it is now getting close to my old lady bedtime, but not without spending more time with God.
When my days get busy like today, I’m learning to be okay with my time with God looking a little different. Instead of getting a full 30 minutes to an hour in the morning reading my bible, I end up finding other ways to connect with God throughout my day in shorter, intentional bursts.
For instance, something I do every time I leave my house is sit in the driveway for a moment to pray, even if it is a ‘God, let’s do this!’ quick prayer. While I was driving around town for UPS, I made sure I had my Christmas or worship songs. That way, I felt the joy of the Lord instead of any road rage! I also made sure to pray and chat with God again on my porch as I let my dogs out after my route. All these little moments with God may be done on my typical days, but I made sure not to skip any opportunity today, knowing I was busier than usual.
Obviously, I took the time to write here to connect to God instead of watching a TV or movie too (which honestly may come next haha!). Writing this blog helps me to reflect and talk to God. Of course, I hope it helps a few people, too but selfishly, some days I write for me and God.
Lastly, I plan on listening to the Bible Recap tonight before lying down in bed. I have an urge to read my daily bible verse before, as usual, but I know my mind is getting sleepy, and I never want to rush or go through the motions when I read my bible. So listening to Tara Lee Coble (Bible Recap host, if you don’t know, check her out!!) may be a good way to get some in without having to rush.
Oh, and of course, bonus God time will be a prayer before bed. Seeing all of these little God moments from today definitely makes it the ‘most wonderful time of the year.’ 🎶
