“O LORD, you have examined my heart

and know everything about me.”

God, thank you for knowing and taking time to understand my mind, my heart, and my thoughts. When my thoughts are jumbled, as they often are, I am glad you already know what’s in my heart, and Your Holy Spirit prays with and for me. 

You know when I sit down or stand up.

You know my thoughts even when I’m far away.

Even when my thoughts are so far away that I can’t understand them or they scare me to speak them out loud to You, God, I’m thankful that You never shy away from them. Thoughts that are dark, questioning, doubting, You stand up and listen to them all. 

You see me when I travel

and when I rest at home.

You know everything I do.

God, this was scary at first to know I cannot hide anything from You, that You know everything I do, but now it brings me comfort. I feel loved because, regardless of anything I do, God, You still love me. Your love is unconditional, and I can rest in that. 

You know what I am going to say

even before I say it, LORD.

When I struggle with the words to pray, God, you already know my words. It allows me space to bring any struggle and release it fully to You.

You go before me and follow me.

You place your hand of blessing on my head.

God, I will follow You anywhere. I pray that I hear Your voice and have the strength that comes from You alone to follow.
