Rain pounding the ground
Dirt welcoming it
Soaking it up after many months without
Spontaneous growth
Trumpet-shaped flowers
Reaching to the sky above
Bending in the breeze
Yet refusing to fold
Standing tall and proud
The poised rain lily
Confident that her roots will taste rain soon
No worry of when or how much
Waiting in patience
Hidden workings underground
Storing up nutrients
Hoarding moisture any way possible
Waiting, trusting
Drops start to fall
Downpour, in abundance
Finally giving her growth
Praise in the rain
God, help me to be like the unshakeable rain lily
To wait with trust in You
Knowing that You will provide
In Your timing, not my own
For I know You have good plans for me
You know the right amount of rain I need
You provide with Your Living Water,
Regardless of whether it heals my pain
If my sorrow stays, I am strong
For my sorrow is no longer mine alone to carry
For I know You are with me, God
I praise you
Through the drought, through the storm
Amen.

May my words point to Him. āļø
