Slow-moving. Steady movement. Always shifting. Always moving.
The clouds above were in steady motion; I felt like I was in a race to beat them somewhere on my walk. No matter the color, size, or thickness, they were all moving at nearly identical speeds, which caught my eye as I walked our familiar path in the neighborhood.
Then I noticed a contrasting sun peaking out of a group of moving clouds. The sun’s solid, constant presence was unmoving and powerful. When I focused on the sun, the clouds seemed to move in fast-forward. The sun moves across our sky daily, but, of course, it is firmly planted at the center of our universe. The Earth, planets, and yes, even the clouds are pulled towards the sun by its gravitational pull.Ā
I know there are way more scientific facts on clouds and the sun. I may even be off in my understanding in this quick write today, but it all had me pondering what God was trying to tell me on my morning walk.Ā
God, being the true center of our universe, was the first point God was whispering to me today. We are all pulled towards Him like the gravitational pull of our Earth. The difference is that we have free choice with God. He will continuously pull us towards Him because of Godās love for each of us, but it’s up to each one of us to accept it.Ā
God was also showing me that sometimes we move fast, other times we move slow, and then there are times we donāt even feel like we are moving at all, just like the clouds moving in the sky. Hereās the thing, though: when we get closer to God, we can look like we are in fast forward, like those clouds today. When we get closer to the sun, we become more confident when we hear God, start to follow Him, and that can get us moving at a pretty decent speed. I donāt know if it was an optical illusion in the sky today that made the clouds look like God had hit the āfast forwardā or āspeedā button in the sky but I do know for a fact that when we are close to the true Son, Jesus, our lives move (maybe fast but also actually maybe slower) but we will move in the right direction, towards God.Ā

This is why I love nature. Everything God had made is actually a reflection of who He is. The Sun, the clouds, the treesā everything. And He is at the center of it all. Watching over us and waiting for us to choose Him. Thank you for sharing this with usš¹.
